Underground Infrastructure Middle East 2010

The master planning, new construction and rehabilitation of 
underground infrastructures is a striking topic in the fast growing cities in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and the whole Middle East region. Adaptability and sustainability of the underground infrastructures are already commanding competitive factors.
The Underground Infrastructure Middle East Conference and Exhibition provides a platform for regional and international government bodies, authorities, construction and maintenance companies, service providers and component manufacturers to change their experiences and to set the basis for the implementation of new projects.

THE FUTURE OF SINKING VERTICAL TUNNELS

This conference and workshop is in response to the industry being under
immense pressure to sink shafts in safer and more efficient ways.
The purpose of this conference and workshop will be to gain an
understanding from mining companies, sinking contractors and EPCM
organizations on their perception of the current process. The idea is to look at
current best practice and to raise suggestions on how to improve the process
using experiences collectively gained worldwide.

9th International Conference on Analysis of Discontinuous Deformation (ICADD9)

Analysis of discontinuous deformation is one of the major issues in rock mechanics and rock engineering. In the past two decades, a variety of efforts have been contributed to develop analytical, numerical and experimental methods in analyzing discontinuous deformation and understanding the behavior of discontinuities in rock mass.
The series of biannual conference aims to exchange ideas and new developments in various analysis methods on discontinuous deformation. It also promotes the developed methods to be applied in rock engineering, including but not limited in stability analysis of rock slope, storage caverns, tunnels, and underground power stations; stress wave propagation in rock mass; rock support design; failure of heterogeneous rock materials; mining technology, etc.
