The International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association (ITA-AITES) created a new Committee, the Committee for Education and Training (ITA-CET) and the launching seminar was organized by the Politecnico of Torino on Tuesday 20 May according to the following programme
The seminar was attended by 32 representatives of Education and Training Institutions coming from 15 different countries from all continents (read more)

The launching seminar of the Kazakhstan Tunnelling Association (KTA) took place in Astana on May the 15th. The seminar has been chaired by Baibol UTEPBAYEV, President of KTA. More than 80 persons representing companies and public services of Kazakhstan took part in the seminar.

ITA has been invited to participate and was represented by its General Secretary, Claude Berenguier.

The formal adhesion of Kazakhstan inside ITA through KTA will be done during the 34th ITA General Assembly in Agra. Kazakhstan will become the 53rd ITA Member Nation.

The ITA-AITES World Tunnel Congress 2009 "Safe Tunnelling for the City and Environment" will take place in Budapest/Hungary on 23-28. May, 2009.

The Call for Papers and the main topics as well as Call for Sponsorship and Exhibition is now available on the website.
