Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) is starting a new Master of Advanced Studies on “Tunnelling” in 2007.  It is an international advanced training program.  The Degree is awarded by EPFL, and is endorsed the International Tunnelling Association (ITA).

It provides continuing learning and training to individuals who wish to progress their career in the tunnelling industry and to companies that wish to advance their engineers’ and managers’ knowledge and potential.

The course consists of 3 months classroom teaching on tunnelling theory, analysis, design and construction, 2 months practical attachment to tunnelling projects, and 2-3 months supervised distance learning and thesis works.  Teachings are conducted in English by leading international experts and specialists, from universities and industries.
